Here is the true story behind this photoshoot.

A story that gives me goosebumps.

I am thrilled to share it with you. 

Julia says: 

I was 18, Fynn was 20. Neither of us was looking for anything. We were both at the right stage in our lives at the right time. We both live in the same city and had been following each other on Instagram for a long time. I wondered who this handsome guy was who had been following me for so long. I thought about messaging him for days. And then the message (September 28, 2019): “Hey” with a shy emoji. His reply: “Hello,” “What’s up” with a cat emoji. 

Our first date was actually planned for Halloween 2019, but we spontaneously decided to meet earlier because we were falling hard for each other. We’ve been together since November 16, 2019. For two years, we’ve been living in our hometown in a small apartment with our two cute cats. We’ve both been through a lot and experienced a lot. But we always believed in each other. And then came the proposal. I was overwhelmed. Even though I knew it would happen at some point, I couldn’t believe it was really happening. It’s important to note that Fynn wasn’t nervous (at least he didn’t seem to be). But he’s good at hiding his emotions, so you can’t tell (like I can). At that moment, I was simply speechless. I cried, trembled, and was overwhelmed.  I thought to myself, “I knew it from the start. He will be my first love, my first and only boyfriend, and my only husband. And now I have the confirmation.” Looking back, even now, I think about how lucky I am. I am blessed. I have a fiancé and I got the most beautiful proposal in the world. I mean, the bar is set very high for other guys/men.

But thanks to you, he had a lot of support and was able to postpone the day because of the rain. That was very lucky!! We really appreciate it!

We love Greece, and as always, we wanted to visit and explore an island. I was very unsure at first. We had just lost a lot of money due to a bad lawyer, and I wasn’t sure if it would fit into this year’s budget. Fynn insisted. We booked the vacation. And that’s what we did… While I was packing our suitcases, I didn’t notice anything. I did think to myself: Where would I hide a ring in my suitcase? But I didn’t pursue the thought. So we flew to Samos. 

We arrived on the island in the rain and, to be honest, I wanted to go straight back home. We were both exhausted, arriving in a rainy place and having paid so much money?!! We already rented a car with which we had so many plans. And now it’s raining? Maybe even every day? We checked our weather app. Tuesday and Wednesday were supposed to be good weather. So we decided to stick to our plan and explore the island. Then on Tuesday evening, Fynn said: “I have a belated birthday and master’s degree gift. I’ll treat you to dinner. But not on Friday, on Wednesday instead.” I didn’t think anything of it. I just said “yes”. We dressed up and drove an hour to a special restaurant on Samos.

Fynn said: we still have some time. So we walked along the beach. I just watched the sea glistening. I watched the sun slowly setting. And then he turned me around. Spoke to me. And got down on one knee.

In the end, he told me about all the planning, the back and forth that I knew nothing about. And, of course, where the ring was in the suitcase… In his sock!
