Sharing a few photos from a recent shoot with Angela, who was dreaming of a mermaid-style beach photo shoot. Angela had this idea in her head for a while: a beach dress, bare feet, rocks, sea, and that slightly wild, feminine feeling you get when you’re completely in your element. And honestly, I think this could be such a beautiful idea for brides too. Not necessarily another traditional bridal shoot. Something more relaxed and personal, where you get to wear your dress, get in the water, walk barefoot, have fun with it and create photographs that feel like you, rather than a wedding catalogue.

So, future brides — if you’ve ever looked at your wedding dress and thought, “I wish I could take this somewhere beautiful and just have fun with it…”

I’m especially grateful to Angela for trusting me with a vision that was very special to her. She had been dreaming about a mermaid-style beach photo shoot for a long time. She had seen my work, knew my style, and was confident that I could create something beautiful for her — even though this was a type of shoot I hadn’t photographed before. That trust meant a lot to me.

We worked closely together to bring her vision to life, and I loved seeing everything come together during the shoot. She knew what she wanted, I knew how I wanted to photograph it, and together we created something that felt very much like her. And most importantly, Angela was genuinely happy with the result. I’m really glad she gave me the opportunity to create something new with her and trusted me to turn a dream she had been carrying for so long into photographs she can actually keep and look back on.
